afterwards they coudn't get their craft to fly in normal conditions without the use of a weight and

Hmmm, I find the 747 drivers pretty considerate as a whole. It's the flash gits in their corporate
jets get me. Just the other day, one passed so close I hit me helmet on a wing, and he was doing 180
knots, too.

This is because you cycle too close to the edge of the runway. Cycle in the middle and take the
whole runway.

LOL, when I used to live near Heathrow Airport I used to ride around the perimeter which is about 17
miles and completely flat with few junctions. There was one point though where there is a level
crossing with the main airport on one side and a maintenance hanger on the other. Only once did I
get stopped while they hauled a Concorde across the road !

of course, if you hadn't been wearing a helmet he probably would have accepted more responsibility
for your safety and not passed so close and even if he had your smaller head profile means he
wouldn't have clipped you :-)

I used to know someone who'd been hit by a low-flying airplane (DHC-6). Fortunately he was a short-
[censored], else he'd have been killed, like the bloke stood next to him. (no helmets in either case).
