Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome yesterday.
My first meeting, although long, went well. It lasted 1-1/2 hours. I jotted down lots of tips. I'm off to the store in an hour to stock up.
When I got home from the meeting I checked what I had for breakfast and it was 10 points so I went ahead and started instead of waiting for today. I'm allowed 30 points and had 29 for the day. Only 6 glasses of water but that may improve.
The problem ~ I got very hungry in the afternoon. I have to figure out how to eat 5 times a day and stay within my point range. That's about 6 points per session. If I don't eat something about every 2 to 2-1/2 hours I start feeling weird. Doc says it's my diabetes.

I don't have diabetes, but I do suffer from the mid-afternoon hungries, and I WAS having a problem eating 5 times a day. I got this tip from Dr. Phil's show this week, and so far it's working really well for me.
Mix up 1/2 cup plain yogurt with 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. vanilla. Mix in a small chopped up apple.
It's very filling and works out to 2 points if you use a small apple.
I don't know about handling diabetes but I generally do cereal and non-fat milk (real or soy) for a 4-6 point breakfast, fruit generally as a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack - apple or pear are one point or sometimes 7-15 small prezels (1 or 2 points).
You might want protein to hold you better?
Again, I don't know how to deal with diabetes and if zero point veggies would work but they can fill the void in the stomach without adding calories or points, if that works for you.
Good luck.

Hi Richard: I am also diabetic and it really helps eating smaller meals and more often. Planning regular meals also stops you from making bad choices. If I am going to eat something cold I get it ready early so when its time to eat I can eat without snacking on something while I prepare it. I also started marking the point values on the foods in my pantry so when I am looking for a snack I can select within my point range. It does get easier! Good luck! Glad you enjoyed your first meeting. a 10 point breakfast is a lot. Maybe you can cut that down a bit and donate the points to later in the day. Also protein helps keep the hunger at bay. I usually have a slimfast with some protein powder for breakfast and this keeps me going till lunch. There are probably better things than slimfast, but it's suits me for now. There are also better ways of having protein like chicken and tuna. I don't know how this will fit in with diabetes.
Finding your groove, so to speak, or what works for you, is the challenge we all face when first starting WW. Experimenting with different and new foods, when to eat certain foods in particular quantities, etc, is all part of the learning curve. For myself, I find that higher protein options keep my hunger at bay. I limit my starches to breakfast and dinner and rarely eat breads or pastas. That's what works for me.

Welcome aboard. I think all of us goof at picking foods and go over our points. That's what Flex points are for. Friday night was my turn. We went to a mexican restaurant and I ordered the Chimichangas. I thought they were 11 points. They were. For a portion 3x3 inches. I ate 2 portions for a total of 22 points. ouch. Used 8 flexpoints and 3 activity points for that mistake. Oh, well. [censored] happens, right?

I must eat every hour or so as I tend toward hypoglycemia, It works, take your time and sometimes just eat 3 points sometimes 7 or so... The best tip I can offer is this, make what you would regularly eat say ten to twelve points, divide it in half. Eat half when you cook it, and half a couple hours later. You get the same balance with half the work as your every other meal is already done, Lee Richard <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

Good luck with the "feeling weird" stuff, Richard. I have faith in you that you can do this. 🙂

They were heavenly. I was feeling frustrated that I was not getting anywhere this week despite my attempts at the Fast Track. I guess my attitude was "Darn It! I'm going to enjoy dinner for a change." Yesterday I was back OP. Tonight I used restraint when ordering from Dominos.Had 2 slices of pizza and 5 wings. Used LF dressing instead of the high test version. I will use 2 Flex point when I have my ice cream bar in a few minutes. The old me would have had 4 pieces not 2 plus more wings.
