I took a lot of advice for cycling further distances form this group and elsewhere on the infoweb. I did a big (200km) cycle at the weekend using all the information gained and found it quite easy. So, to recap...this is what i did
drank 3 pints water before starting, 1 with energy powder mixed in
prepared 2 litres energy drink for every 4 hours cycling
Just imagine how easy you'd find it if you gave up completely!

i really want to do the Oxford 313 km, but dont know if i have the legs for it yet. i did make one mistake this weekend, by not having a break in the last 65 km. this meant when i finished i would probably not have been able to go much further. but, the wind was in my face all the way

It's meant to be a tough one -- 3900m of climbing. I'm contemplating it but will see how I feel after the next 200 in a couple of weeks before deciding for sure...
