    Is that your grill?

Yes. The original owners installed it as part of their 1969 kitchen
renovation. It shows some age but for the most part it's rock solid.

Oh, man. That is so great. We could eat so healthily if I had one of those.

Looks wonderful. Please do share your recipe. Unless it calls for glue
    in the ingredients.

  9. Recipe:

    Here it is...

Title:* Thai Chicken Or Pork Satay *
    Yield: 4 Servings

    /*Ingredients*/

2 tb yellow curry paste; (Thai)
    1 ts turmeric
1 tb palm sugar or brown sugar
2 tb Thai fish sauce; (nam pla)
    2 tb lime juice
    1 tb vegetable oil
    1 lb boneless pork loin
    cut into 3" x 1" x 1/4" strips
    OR
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (today was thighs)
    cut into 3" x 1" x 1/4 strips
24 8 in bamboo skewers soaked in water for
    1 cn unsweetened coconut milk

    */Instructions/*

Combine yellow curry paste, turmeric, palm sugar, fish sauce, lime juice
and oil. Toss meat strips with marinade and marinate for minimum of 2 hours
    in refrigerator or better overnight.

Thread individual meat strips onto the skewers, weaving in-and-out, in a
ribbon fashion. Make meat strips lay flat on skewer.

Prepare grill. Medium hot coals. Brush strips with thick coconut cream (see
below). Place (brushed side down) over hot coals for 1 to 2 minutes. Turn
over, brush with coconut cream and grill until cooked. Do not overcook the
    meat it will dry out.

    Serve with Spicy Peanut Sauce.

TO PREPARE COCONUT MILK AND CREAM: Pour 1 can unsweetened coconut milk into
a tall glass. Allow to sit for at least 1 hour so the thick cream rises to
the top. Skim off top (cream) and set aside. The rest is thin coconut milk.

    Andy's Notes:

Visit http://www.tinypic.com/34xrkwg.jpg for some of the steps (was pork
tenderloin satay, but the method doesn't change).

I make 2 lbs. of satay and the recipe doubles perfectly.

Wear disposable gloves, unless you don't mind yellow fingers for a few days
    from the turmeric.

If you just carefully open the can of coconut milk, the cream will already
be on top. No need to pour and wait.

I will put two or more pieces of meat on each skewer. Makes for less fuss
    over the fire.

Overnight marinating is recommended, turning once or twice.

Bring meat to room temp before grilling.

Thai beef satay is not out of the question. I've seen it using flank steak
    strips. I must try that.

Best results achieved when you invite Andy over.

    Enjoy!

Maybe. However, 6,000 watts won't exactly improve the healthfulness of the
meat, just the cost of it! <g>

I generally leave my Elmer's, Raid and Pledge on the *other* side of my
spice tray. Sorry Andy, I couldn't resist.

But the grease drains, right? Or how does it work?

It's Andy's signature. If it wasn't there, we'd wonder whose picture
    it really was. 😉

Andy is a man's man.... gotta have glue on the turn-around (or is that
a tray?) just in case something needs fixing while he's cooking.

    sf,

    I use XnView. http://www.xnview.com/

It's an excellent free, compact, powerful, fast image browser, cataloger
    and editor.

It's not PhotoShop but it's great if you don't need serious photo
    retouching features.

It's "Add Text" feature that I use for captioning is very rudimentary. Only
flush left alignment at the moment.

Aha.... I see IrfanView has that feature too. It's right under Edit,
where it belongs. LOL I'll play with that feature in a day or two.

    Thanks,
    🙂

    sf,

    I looked at IrfanView.

While it has some nice features I was disappointed with it, by and large.

The setup program prompts to install a google search tool!??

The setup program tried to get out to the internet, for what purpose I'm
not sure and when I refused to let it, the setup program refused to quit
    without being CNTL-ALT-DEL manhandled.

You can quit the program and the program will not prompt you to save
    changes.

The Insert text selection feature is cumbersome, having to draw a marque
for the text, without the ability to move it around for positioning
    afterwards.

    Have a look at XnView?
