Vau De are a well respected German firm, and one of the biggest names in
outdoor kit if you happen to be in Germany... They have a reputation
for making good quality and innovative products.

I haven't, but a couple of pals have Hogans and have been very pleased
with them, booth in terms of absolute performance and value for money.

I have used Hogans and found them OK. They are a bit on the heavy side
for backpacking. If you are intending to carry it any distance I would
go for the Taurus.

A school Duke of Ed group I have worked with used Hogans extensively and
even in the hands of teenagers they survived pretty well. We had a few
broken poles but I think that was more to do with the handling than a
particular weakness.

I've not used one but I've seen a few and I like them. Vaude is a
good brand name for all sorts of outdoor stuff and I'd be inclined to
trust them. If you want the Hogan, go for it. At least one of our
number (sorry, I've forgotten his name) uses one.

I have used Hogans and found them OK. They are a bit on the heavy side
for backpacking. If you are intending to carry it any distance I would
go for the Taurus.

The Hogan Ultralight is only 1.7 Kg (with bag and pegs) - it is actually
lighter than the Taurus Ultralight.

The non-ultralights are around 2.85Kg and I use mine for backpacking. With
two it isn't too bad as the other person can carry the stove and a bit more
food to even up the weight.

Being a bit on the large side the 2 person tent is just for me so I will be
carrying the food, etc as well.
