Hi,
I am new to this group. I want as many people as possible to know that
I was poisoned by Teflon. I've never trusted it, and when it poisons
you, you want to tell everyone how dangerous it is. I've used surgical
stainless steel for over 2 years. I recently moved in with some friends
after Hurricane Katrina. I still used my own stainless steel cookware
while they used the Teflon. I'd walk into the kitchen, and I could
smell the Teflon pots, which were brand new I might add. I didn't say
anything because I cooked my own food in my own pots. Well, a few days
later, I developed severe back pains and in my joints. (I'm only 23
years old by the way and very athletic) My back has never hurted
before. Heck, I don't even lift heavy objects!
Then the cold sweats came on only to be followed by "weird chills" that
made me shake. The people I was staying with didn't know what to make
of it. I also had piercing stomach pains and diarrhea. Oh yes, the
headaches were excruciating. It felt like a brick was constantly being
pressed against my head. Long story short, my mother emphatically told
me over the phone I had the infamous Teflon flu. "Teflon flu?" HUH?? I
had every symptom. End of story: my friends realized what had happened.
We started cooking in the stainless steel and today I feel like a
million bucks. My career is in the field of computer
networking/consulting, which is very technically oriented. So this
isn't simply an emotional response to a "seasonal flu". I know for a
fact that Teflon fumes poisoned me. Believe me or not you have been
warned. Thanks for your time. Grant Polet [email hidden]
