There has been a Team DFL in Northern California for a number of years
now. One day several years ago I was at the office of our District Rep
when she got a phone call from a confused rider. The rider was a member
of Team DFL but his USCF license had come back as unattached. The rider
didn't understand why he was listed as Unattached. As the rider said "
I listed Team DFL as my team on my license application. I even included
the full team name by spelling out what DFL stands for". Needless to
say the DR and I both found that to be pretty funny.
