  1. It was a success. The bear was quiet and Baby Ellie was NOT
    invited -- I didn't ask why.

I've posted a pic (just one so far) on my webpage. The
weather was lovely, we were beneath the branches of the
flowering crab apple tree (it's not flowering now, though).

Sam was pretty good pouring our pink lemonade tea. I use the
phrase loosely. She got into it.

Menu: (all bread cut bite size) Open face pb thang with a
sprinkle of chocolate atop; cream cheese with cuke slice on
bread; honey on bread for the bear, Sam's seafood
salad/spread thing, shortcake with half a strawberry topped
by a dollop of Cool Whip, cream cheese on bread triangles,
topped with a dash of Fox Point.

We wore hats and tried to be good.

Only 6 days until my birthday. "Shop early, shop often, shop
big." Good gin and cheap chocolate preferred. Or is it cheap
gin and good chocolate? I can never remember. . . .A diamond
bracelet would be nice. . .

This is the sort of photo that she's going to look at
when she's an adult and it'll bring a warm feeling to
    her heart. 🙂

I have some photos like that of time with various of my
family members, and it never fails to warm me up. 🙂

You both look so serious. Were the sandwiches as delicious
    as they look?

How come you did not consider having tea as your beverage? I
used to get tea as a little kid, not any older than Sam is
now. It was weak tea, either warm or cold (not iced), with
sugar and lemon. That is the way I like it to this day. I
can use one tea bag for half a dozen cups of tea, that's how
    weak it has to be.

They provided lovely background music. :-) You'd have
thought this was a Spielberg production or something - three
cameras were going whilst Missy Sam and I were doing our
thang. I've been informed that I should have had a place set
for the bear. The bear is lucky I let it live here and was
happy just to sit on the table (the view was better than
from her own chair - she's kinda short, in spite of the
    pillow on the chair.)

MOF, she was very well behaved. :-) I'm guessing that next
time we'll have a better fix on the protocol. I was a tea
party virgin. She missed out on the pb sandwich, though. The
cocoa mix dusting on top was a good plan -- and I forgot to
take a close-up of the morsel tray.

I'm given to broad brim straw hats - and I had the camera
setting at "vivid" for color -- bad choice -- my hat doesn't
really glow in the dark. I have such memories of my mom
wearing that turquoise number. When Beck was getting
married, her cousins gave her an "we're old hats at this
marriage thing" shower and all the guests were asked to wear
a hat. Beck wore that one. My mom was 5'2" tall and always
had a cover on her head in church - this one went with her
    spring coat.

And yes, she is a joy to us - she lights up my life. How are
    you enjoying your little one?

Well, I've never done this - I was nervous. Sam didn't know
WHAT was going on at first. Then she got into it. Especially
the pouring part. I didn't tell you that at one point she
was handing a cup to her mom but when she took her hand away
(something like that), her finger wa still in the handle and
the proper wee tea cup went flying! It bounced on the grass
before landing on the concrete patio. No harm done. The
    first bounce saved it.

Were the sandwiches as delicious as they look?

They weren't too bad. The cream cheese with cucumber slice
was pretty good, as was the cream cheese with the Fox Point
sprinkled on it. the little shortcake bites were yummy, too.

Because I wanted to drink it, not puke in it.

Yeah, I have a friend who makes see-through coffee.
