TdF win won't be tainted.....

....If it is true that those top contenders were guilty of PED's, then this years winner will not have a tainted win, because we dont know how those riders would perform on a level playing field. If, and I do mean IF Basso was juiced for last years Tour, and the Giro, then who knows what he would do clean. Same for Ulle. Maybe they arent so good. So, if Landis, Hincappi, Levi or whomever win, then it is fair, and probably they would best those riders on a clean, level playing field. That said, please come up with a reliable, fair way to test these riders around the clock so we can be sure. To suspect the winners is unfair to them if they are truely clean. The playing field needs to be level and fair, and maybe this is a good start. PS. If Vino is clean, and I suspect he is, I feel most sorry for him.

It would've been tainted had Ullrich and Basso not been withdrawn. Despite the shock from today's incident it is actually good for the sport. The cheaters should've been weeded out in 98 just like Lim said. The UCI is partly responsible. We need a revolution. This sport is a liability.
Feel sorry for the fans. The children who look up to these riders as "heroes". I know I won't give up the sport I love but I can't be happy with all this going on. When did people decide to blur the boundaries of morality?

Actually all we know is that the riders left have not been caught - there is no guarantee that it is not "tainted".

This is true. I did say to a friend earlier: "I wonder how many riders are breathing a huge sigh of relief if their names aren't on the list?"

True, but we know if they WERE riding.. it definitely would be tainted. Better than nothing.

as i said in another thread... they watch one doctor associated with cylclist for a couple of months and 10% of the pro peleton is caught with their pants down... please will you stop the naivety... doping is an ingrained, integral part of pro cycling and has been from the start, deal with it! the clean rider is the odd man out not the dirty one... if this scandal has taugh you anything it should have taught you that... as well as doping contorls are completely useless and only now and then do they get lucky or someones screws up and gets caught...
people need to stop being so naive... the riders in this years tour are the just the one that didn't get caught this time around.. 'cause they use some other doctor for their PEDs.

Agreed. This is ONE doctor. The majority of the rest are probably still doping. And sure, there may be different levels. Not every rider can afford a comprehensive plan like Ulle, Hamilton, and Basso apparently had. But that doesn't mean that they didn't take HGH, EPO, steroids, etc. on their own. This TdF will be just as tainted as all the rest have been.
