TDF Stage 19: TTT or ITT?

OK, for the last time everyone - it's an INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL.

TTT at stage 19 is just bizzare, with lots of teams with few riders.

There were six team trials in 1928, and since it was national teams that year some countries started
with less riders than others...

That would be very interesting - if they put TTT at the end.

They can't do that since Americans starting to become contenders. That at how angry the Freds
are already.

Changing the subject slightly, I am trying to remember why they bagged the TTT for a while. I think
it went out the window when the GTs were forced to limit number of days. The UCI put limits on total
days and that was the first time the Tour was the same as the other GTs and they also lost the TTT
for several years. Before the UCI limits (or perhaps it was still limited but at higher limits) the
TTT would sometimes be on the same day as a road stage. I seem to remember some Tours in my youth
that had 23 stages. They only had one race day but the TTT day had 2 stages so there were 4 weekends
plus 3 weeks. (4*2)+(3*5)=23

Is it not so?

Since this is your first ever Tour de France I'll answer this:

Only one, sometimes zero TTT's/Tour.

If you tune in for the Vuelta and ask the same or similar question then you'll be out of luck.
