Which they have done in the past. Skoda probably is providing vehicles
for tour officials and all the behind the scenes stuff you don't usually
see. Just because they're a major sponsor doesn't mean they override
    everyone's vehicle choice.

Not to mention, they`re such p.o.s. cars, they`d need another set of
support vehicles to support the broken down Skodas.

That makes perfect sense. Even if I was given a Skoda for free, I think I
    would rather walk...

Which is pretty much what you'd be doing in short order...

At least if you get one with a rear window defroster, your hands will be
warm when you have to push it on a cold day.

The official medical vehicle (Dr. Porte) is an Audi. Looks like Skoda
isn't making convertibles these days. However, both Audi and Skoda
are owned by VW, so it stays in the family.

Previously, Skoda was Ballanger's sponsor at her initiative when Skoda
    released the Felicia.

Skoda is a member of V.A.G. (Volkswagen Audi Gruppe).
    Sponsorship = free advertising.
    Still.

BTW, Skoda Superb in class, tech part and other can be compared to VW
    Passat or Audi A6.
