Most would probably assume it was Swiss, including quite a few with
English flags on their cars!

Frankly, having watched a fair bit of tour coverage including interviews
with both Armstrong and Ullrich, I find neither of them appealing or
sympathetic characters. I suppose only very driven, very controlled,
very competitive people can reach the top in any tough sport, but
frankly I don't find these characteristics likeable.

My heart is still with Voekler. Not that I think he'll win, but because
I feel that he deserves to, and that the world would be a better place
if people like him did win things more often.

I'm wondering if some crazed French fan will jump out of the crowd and
attack Armstrong so an American will not hold the all-time record. Not
something I would like to happen and I apologise to any French readers that
are offended by that or Americans in general.

Ahh the Americanisation has started! I know I made comments about wondering
if something like that would happen but I had no intention of accusing a
particular Nation of harbouring such people, as all nations have such people
in their midst.

It's one thing to make a comment in a newsgroup. It's an entirely different
thing to rock up anywhere regardless of tact or tradition and start making
demands.
