TDF abandons Lance v LeMond

Lance leads 3 (93, 94, 96) to LeMonds 2 (92, 94). But LeMond nearly
abandoned his first tour in 84 with foot problems, but supported Fignon
and got a podium place. You could call that a virtural abandon and tie
Lance.

Lance leads 3 (93, 94, 96) to LeMonds 2 (92, 94). But LeMond nearly

and got a podium place. You could call that a virtural abandon and tie
Lance.

Of course, Lance has 8 finishes (1995, 1999-2005) in 11 attempts (1993-1996,
1999-2005)

LeMond has 6 finishes (1984-1986, 1989-1991) in only 8 attempts (1984-1986,
1989-1992, 1994)

far, and has been on 7 Tour de France winning teams, and has won a stage.

So Georgie is the greated American Cyclist of the post-war era!
