  1. Curious how other people manage their taper toward target races, specifically in terms of using Cycling Peaks to quantify the taper?

Two weeks ago I maxed out at 14 hrs and 900 TSS. Last week I took a break from all structured training to give myself a mental rest week - I took a few days easy and other days did a few of my favorite loops trying to set new PR's. I ended up with 12 hrs and 850 TSS, so generally sticking with the idea of reducing volume but maintaining/upping intensity a bit. I'll probably drop another two hours this week, but go back to intervals b/c it's easier to control training load that way and I want to try and 'put a point on things' with a last phase of VO2max work. See how I'm feeling in the races and recovering and adjust further if necessary. My first set of target races are bascially every weekend in April, so I'll be curious to see where my true 'peak' comes.

How do others manage their hours/ TSS/ training routines with an eye to peak their form?
