Anyone have any views on whether this Lidl version should be any better/worse than the genuine Trangia? Have used neither but seems daft not to get this if it works ok..
I'm slightly dubious about the perforations in the upper windshield, which genuine trangias don't have. Gives the impression that they copied the design with more care for a pretty appearance than a real appreciation of what the holes are actually there for. Another consideration is that trangia's have been around forever and will continue to be so, which means that spare parts are easy to get hold of, if anything ever does go wrong.
I'm pretty certain that Trangia spares will fit this cooker...;-)

I advise caution. I have a 'real' trangia but also bought a clone one from Blacks. No matter what I do I cannot get the components to nest properly. The burner leaks so any unused meths must be emptied out. The fastening belt is a joke.

Thanks for all the opinions on the merits or otherwise of the Lidl version as compared to the genuine Trangia. As I'm not a particularly hard-core wild-camper I reckon the cheapo version is worth a try. Even if it turns out not to be much good, I guess I will have acquired a couple of pans we can use with the cooker when we mild-camp! Obviously I'll keep a keen eye on the Trangies on e-bay between now and my next skulk round the Paignton Lidl...
