Tandem Exchange Rate

Beware - there be dragons!

If you start comparing things to the price of golf, then
pretty soon almost everything starts to seem good value! The
main exception in my experience is sailing...

As a long time ex-smoker I use the cost of a 20-a-day-habit
to justify all my leisure purchases. When the chancellor
whacks a bit more duty of a pack of ciggies it gives me
licence to buy another cycling widget :-)

Silly as this sounds some people who comment on the price of
bikes and good cycling kit seem to think spending £1500 a
year to knacker your lungs perfectly acceptable.

expenditure ever.

You should encourage him to switch to a more exclusive club.
Then you could justify splashing out even more on bikes.

The stepfather of a schoolfriend of mine raced an offshore
powerboat, which is much the same but with 50 pound notes.
At least it was at 1970s prices.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of a new set of clubs,
bag, trolley, funny clothes etc each season.

Well it convinced me but I wish I knew somebody who was a
power boat racer so I could buy a Cannondale tandem instead
of a Dawes. Iain
