  1. Folks,

The are lots of good places to eat out LC, and cooking in has lots of
possibilities, when I find myself getting stuck is if we're with
others and do take out or have food delivered.

My wife has a super-sensitive nose, so
Chinese/Japanese/Thai/Indian/other strong smelling foods are out.
Which leaves the default to be Italian. All of which seems to be
pasta based, and the meats breaded or floured. I normally end up with
a salad of some sort, but the quality varies greatly from place to
place. Occasionally I'll order a sandwich and discard the bun, but
    often that's not satisfying.

So, what are your recommendations for take out / delivery food?

    Cheers,

  2. At your weight, if other people are eating take out, then you should opt for
a glass of water. Missing a few meals would do you a world of good.

  3. So many restaurants are now offering LC dishes, and they are all available
for take out.... I'll list a couple of my fav's

    Outback:
    Rack of lamb
Caesar Salad; Plain, Chicken, Shrimp, or Salmon
(add a side of sautéed mushrooms)

    Tony Romas:
Bucket o' Baby Backs (LC sauce)

    Olive Garden:
From their website, they say they offer whole wheat linguine as a
lower-carb substitute for regular pasta, or any sauce over veggies.

p.s. it's a short list because any others would be
    Chinese/Japanese/Thai/Indian/other........ :-)

There's a great delivery service where I live that restaurants
subscribe to...Room Service in Paradise. Their booklet, mailed free to
everyone within the delivery zone, contains the subscribed restaurant's
menus. I just have to phone in an order to RSiP and, for a delivery
fee, a meal is delivered to my office. I live too far away for home
delivery! Anyway, I usually order more than one meal then stock the
    fridge/freezer with leftovers.

Is there a similar service in your area?

    Aloha...Sue

Hey I went to an Italian this week and guess what? They have chicken / steak /
seafood dishes served with lightly cooked veg. I guess you should be able to
find them in yours too. I had pollo ? (apologies, my Italian is non-existent)
and it was chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese in tomato sauce.

  6. Don't be jealous. Perhaps if you were smaller, you would feel better about
    yourself.

Hint: missing a few meals would do you a world of good.

The grilled salmon at Outback is consistently the BEST salmon dish I've
had anywhere. You wouldn't expect it from a steak place, but it's
amazing: tender, not overdone, huge moist flakes.

Anyone know the stats on Outback's Remoulade sauce? I don't know what's
in it so I just stick to a little melted butter. 🙂

    http://www.outbacksteakhouse.com/menu/

About the middle of the page is a link to nutrition info

Down the list and click on High Protein/Low Carb.

Note the comment on the Remoulade here:

"All fish - Order without chips or potatoes. Add steamed broccoli if your
carbohydrate counts allow. Request Remoulade sauce or butter."

I searched on recipes for the sauce. It seems to be one of:
Mayonnaise + Horseradish + chili or pepper sauce or
    Mustard + Horseradish + ...

You might just ask them what's in it.
