If I am, that is news to me. Assume nothing.

I do not deny that list this website I also make no claims about being
    the only or the best.
I do believe Daytona is off base with this assumption.

Amanda, I am glad you are checking it out medically. I hope you have
a sports minded doctor. My dentist is a marathon runner and he always
    asks good questions.

A typical, nonsensical, reply that you'd expect from a spammer.

  2. Why would I be a spammer? The only time I eat spam is on the trail.
    Maybe I missed somthing here?

    I think I did to.....

  4. I went to the doc's and the verdict was that it was one of those
things, however she recommended that I get some foam to just pull the
shoulder straps away from my body in the chest area, as although the
strap weren't tight she thought that the slight pressure from the strap
as I swing my arms (or walk with poles) on the glands by my armpits
might be reducing the return flow and therefore causing the swelling.
The other advice was the same as some of you have suggest and that I
try to move my hands - preferably above heart height!)

Anyway, thanks for the help. This time next week I'll be getting ready
to start the 40 miles (getting quite nervous now).

I'll let you know how it goes.
    Amanda

  5. Have fun Amanda. With or without poles!
