marengo said:Carol, you're going to sabotage your improved BG with the fruit. Why would
someone who is diabetic say that they're dizzy, so they're going to start
eating foods with more sugars?
Why would I say that? Because I'm getting more overwhelmed and confused
every day. Not just about this. About everything. I'm seeing my shrink
on Tuesday, and I'm going to ask him about something radical that may help.
Confused, desperate, stressed, fearful - you name it.
Quoted message said:It sounds as if the root of your dizzy spells lie elsewhere, not in low
carbs. In fact, If your carbs are as low as you say they are then you would
be in ketosis -- which supplies your brand body with a steady supply of
fuel, as evidenced by your stable blood sugars. "Needing more carbs"
doesn't make sense to me.
Actually, it doesn't to me anymore, either. I had a very carby dinner last
evening, got up to use the bathroom during the night, and would have been
on the floor if it weren't for the bathroom wall. I'm not sure what made
me think to change my eating plan last night.
I've been assuming that this is probably an inner ear issue. If my
insurance company sees fit to reinstate my policy, I'll be able to see my
doctor. And fill my prescriptions. If not, I'll keep falling down and
will have very high blood sugars; uncontrolled asthma, blood pressure, and
acid reflux (low-carbing doesn't help me with that); and by this time next
week, I won't be able to post here, because I'll have run out of my psych
meds, and will be a raving lunatic.
Quoted message said:ALso, just out of curiosity -- what are you eating? Elsewhere in this
thread you said that you are eating only about 800 calories a day, yet you
are keeping your carbs too low. This doesn't seem to add up, since low-carb
food tend to be high-fat and calorie-dense.
I haven't plugged my food into fitday for quite some time, but that was
about my average when I did. Currently, my staples are yogurt and eggs. I
also eat canned green beans. There is no money for fresh veggies. We have
meat in the freezer, but I'm just too worn out (in many respects) to think
about cooking it, much less eating it. I sleep up to 12 hours at night,
then take 2 to 3 naps during the day.
Quoted message said:My intention isn't to be critical; just trying to help put things in
perspecive from another point of view.
Yeah, Peter, I know you're a good egg. And I'm grateful for your input.
I'm starting to wonder, looking back at this post, if I've become carb
phobic. Anorexia, but only as it relates to carbohydrates. Odd.
Quoted message said:I wish you well and hope that you get your problem with dizziness fixed.
Thanks. Me too. Some day, I may not have a nearby wall, table, chair, or
Crash to hang on to.
Quoted message said:p.s. If you plan on eating fruit anyway, then Atkins is not for you. Try
South Beach; maybe that would fir in better with what you are looking for.
My association with fruit will remain having a chunk or two of cantaloupe,
or maybe a couple of strawberries. If I bring home a container from the
store, it'll be empty within an hour. Guaranteed.
I don't think I'm following any plan right now. 🙁
