Swimming in the morning is definitely better. Actually, I have my morning swim right after I
warmed up from my morning workout. Swimming in the afternoon interferes with my afternoon nap. I
cannot imagine swimming in the evening, since my wife would be back from the office and requires
my service.====================================

No doubt for me it is because I can enjoy the post-swimming euphoric mood all day. Besides
that, I think it is easier to wake up if you start with an exercise that allows you to
essentially lay down 🙂Marianne

is morning swimming better than in the afternoon or evening? It is for me. I can't do swimming training at night because it will keep me from falling asleep for
several hours after. I can train in the gym at night with the opposite effect. I swim faster in the
afternoon than in the morning, but I prefer training in the pool in the morning.martin

For me, yes, mainly because something always comes up in the evenings to keep me away from the pool.
Lunch time is OK, but too rushed, especially since this office only takes a half hour for lunch.Donal Fagan AIA Donal@DonalO'Fagan.com (Anglicise the name to reply by e-mail)

another subject:---------
A London Olympics featuring a diving competition in Trafalgar Square and swimming in the Millennium
Dome might sound a bit far-fetched.But a delegation from London's 2012 bid have picked up some spectacular ideas while visiting the
World Swimming Championships in Barcelona. The Spanish event is using a temporary 50metre pool housed inside the Palau Sant Jordi 12,000-seat
stadium which hosted the gymnastics at the 1992 Games. The steel-panel structure takes 10 days to
erect and seven to dismantle at a relatively modest cost of around £300,000.---------
So that pool at the Barcelona meet was a temporary pool?! Fascinating. But what happened to the pool
from the Barcelona Olympics?? -

a yamaha fiber glass pool. afterwards it was disassembled and taken away. -

Japan of competition level (spectator seating, etc.). Building swimming facilities was one of the
major scams the Construction Ministry used during the bubble to transfer funds to the big
construction companies, who later hired retired ministry officials at inflated salaries to do
nothing. The Pan Pacs were held at a really nice facility in Yokohama out in the middle of nowhere
that nobody had ever heard of before. It's almost like you can be walking down the road in some
rural area of Japan, and all of a sudden stumble across an Olympic level swimming facility ... next
to the world class museum building (with no artwork in it) ... and the luxurious concert hall (with
a local piano teacher's students having a recital).I guess it must be Yamaha these days that is bribing officials or handing out post-retirement
sinecures. -

I don't know about this particular situation but, in general, temp pools do offer the opportunity
for _massive_ seating, ie plunk one down in the middle of the Olympic stadium & seat 110,000 instead
of the pool's 'measly' 17,500. I've been in both btw, and swam the workout of my life in the pool.
Well, ok, the workout, scm, with Popov's mirror at the AIS was better. I'd kill for one of those.
_All_ the Sydney facilities were _excellent_, I can only imagine what the place was like with
200,000 people there.... Truly an amazing legacy.--Mike

My favorite workout is sit ups, side bends, 3 mile run, 30 minute swim. Before work. The whole day
feels good because of your workout buzz. I used to do evenings, but once you get used to mornings it
is hard to go back to evenings.
