  1. Tuesday saw us out on the road with Suzie's first introduction to claiming the lane.

Centre Dandenong Road for those who don't know it is a four lane undivided road with speeds of 60-70km/h. It's a light industrial area so there's a fair few lorries and a lot of cars.

It was a holiday on Tuesday so the traffic was quite light. I took the lead and showed Suzie where in the road to ride, demonstrating how dangerous changes in direction of the road can be and the importance of riding even wider at those points in order to give one plenty of room should another road user mis-judge the road.

Suzie took to it like a duck to water :-) It was a stinking hot day and we were both really tired after a late night at my brother-in-law's wedding so we didn't stay out long. After a brief sojurn to Cheltenham with some window shopping at the bike shop there we headed back and I played domestique again. Finished the ride off with a splash in the pool.

Suzie's going to have no problems on the road :-)

  2. bahahah. I can see it now...

"I have created a monster. Once upon a time i could beat her and then it happened. She started half-wheeling me all the time. Oh faphphphpher. the fshame..." 😄😄😄

hehehe there were a few cries of "Get your [censored] moving fatboy, I wanna go faster" yesterday; and that was riding my slow hybrid bike so watch out! I think I might be on domestique duties soon. 🙄

Makes mental note to get bikes that'll only fit me. Maybe welded seat posts or something....

Mind you was waiting at the driveway while Suzie locked up and saw a couple heading out on matching Cevellos. Maybe that's the way to go :-)

Oooh, I've seen a pair like that on Baroona Rd, matching hybrids and
matching fluoro yellow and grey shirts. And matching mediocre road
skills. They do okay, but they'd do so much better if they road side by
    side (it's 2 lanes anyway).
