Lance usually starts a bit slow then picks it up later.

damm... Basso had a defect between 17 and 35km and and the standings
at 35km are:

1- 001 ARMSTRONG (USA, DSC) 00:46:38
2- 011 ULLRICH (GER, TMO) 00:46:57 19"
3- 021 BASSO (ITA, CSC) 00:47:31 53"

Nope. LA is 46 seconds at the 35 km mark ahead of Basso who is slowing on
the downhills.

As of now he will _lose_ 5 minutes according to OLN. He's had two crashes a
couple slowdowns and at least 4 bike changes.

Aften the first crash and flat involving 2 bikechanges he completly
folded - crached once again, went off-track and lost almost 8
minuttes.

defects... and lost a little on the final flat section because he went

It was only 2 or 3 bike changes, he must have ridden reasonable fast
at some parts of the curse. It looks like he spend arround 5 minuttes
off the bike today.

He might have had another bike change between the 4th and the 5th.
incident. Here is the rough times he lost at each of the incidents.

1. 1:00
2. 1:30
3. 0:30
4. 0:40
5. 0:20

For 5 minuttes of the 7:47 he lost today, he didn't ride his nike.
Without the accidents it would have been a decent time. However staing
on the bike is part of the game. He took at least 3. chances he
shouldn't have taken, in order to fight for his 3rd spot, and secondly
in order to stay ahead of Mancebo and then Leipheimer/Vinokurov.

Rasmusssen hasn't been interviewed yet, he is very disapointed and
wont talk with journalists today.

in the post race interviews. Perhaps they are trying to hide Basso's
real iTT streangth and wanst to surprise Ullrich i 2006? ...I don't

Poor guy. I was watching TV supporting him. But I must admit that when the
second fall I could not avoid laughing. It was absolutely grotesque. The guy

1. Go grab as much time as you can before it gets technical.

2. Take it a bit easier on the technical bits and watch out for parts
from Rasmussen's bike.

ex. Rabobank captain Rolf Sørensen wondered who the mechanic was - he has
been with the team since the beginning, knows every one, but never met
him. The mechanic also did a lot of work with Rasmussen' rear wheel
within the last minutte before he was released to ride.
