  4. What the hell is rims tape? Aren't rims supposed to stay together on their
    own?

Long: All clinchers that have nipples screwed in on the rim side need rim
    tape.

Short: Yes. Good rim, by the way.

    Ditto.

  7. Oops! Spelling error, they are RhynoLite XL's. I suppose that wouldnt make
a difference when I looked at there site
http://www.sun-ringle.com/prods/mtbrims.html They both basicly look the
    same in construction.

Anyways, I thought I wouldn't because the nipples are set quite far into the
rim. O well, Gotta pick up some rim tape.

O, and nice one Alpha Male.

Aye, but the tube will spread into those holes when you inflate it. After
that, I'd give it seconds before the tube rips itself apart, IYSWIM.

The edge of the holes in the rim are sharp enough to puncture the tube when
you inflate it. You don't even have to have the nipples contact the tube.
This messes up the tube and you can't patch it, because you then have 32 or
36 weakened spots on the tube, and they sequentially blow out on you.

XLs are slightly wider. Rhynos combined with XTs disc is a good combo.
Good price and very tough. Very popular combo used locally including
    myself.

  11. Yes or if you don't have it handy PVC tape will do.

Old tube split lengthways, cut to right width and length, then overlap and
superglue the ends. All mine are like that.

I found the wider Velox tape to be pretty nice.

Some folks say it's the best you can get, but I have no idea why that
would be. It was the only kind served up by my not-so-LBS.
