I have occasionally found the opposite of elyob, having been turned away from sites that cater for
over 18's only, when I've been touring with one or more of my children.

These are not 'wink wink nudge nudge' sites, but ones which cater for campers who have an aversion
to children. apparently there are chains that they belong to, and to allow a child would lead to
removal from the advertising offered.

On a few rare occasions I have been told sites are full, but these are often where fixed pitches
only are provided, with all so-called mod cons. In such cases I've always ended up down a bridleway
or in a farmer's field which is usually far far better.

'Wild camping' (my usual method) invariably beats staying at sites hands down,
- especially when just along the road or track from a pub :-)

I'm doing a week in August cycling around the border country near the Black Mountain (or is it

I might do the North Pennine Cycleway in September if I can blag another week off work. Again not

Still dithering. Quite fancy ferry Portsmouth - Bilbao, cycle to le Havre, ferry back. Then I have
days when I fancy Provence & another shot at Mont Ventoux. Will probably do the ferry, if the pound
is worth owt vs the euro by June......
