I'm not a big fan of Margaritas, but I saw this (as an ad on Google) and
thought that some of you may be interested. I've not tried it.

Bob,
Thanks for the tip. We have tried a number of these substitute mixes and
so far none measure up. Hopefully this one is better.
The sad part of this story is a real margarita is made with tequila,
triple sec and lime juice. Nothing else! The triple sec is the bulk of
the carb count.
The things called margaritas served in bars and made with the mixes are
basically sweet & sour mix with a bit of tequila. Mucho sugar!
Ice isn't always readily available in Mexico so the frozen thing is also
an American invention.
So the solution is to cut down on the triple sec, let the salt and sour
of the lime juice develop a natural sweetness and you have a real
margarita.
With all that said, I still prefer my spirits straight out of the bottle
over a full glass of ice. Forget the carbs!
Enjoy,
George

Well, I agree with you there! (Although I have to remember about the
calories.)

If you do try it, let me know how it is. Although I'm not a huge "mixed
drink" drinker, I wouldn't mind one or two of these in the summer.

I live in Albuquerque, NM.......margaritas are our life blood here.......lol
It's hard to find a good recipe though, Jimmy Buffet's is the best I've ever
tried but I'm sure it's loaded too. I'll let you know though:-)

great site PB!
i hope everyone is posting the LC sites that they find!
Yes I was able to find the Margarita mix in one of the grocery stores here
for awhile but I bought the last of it and they didn't order anymore. I buy
it from Netrition now.
I don't do booze but I love slushies so I add some frozen strawberries to it
and eat it without the tequila.
It is very good!
I use it for a treat. I eat a little bit of it when I make it and then put
the rest into frozen popsicle holders and eat one when I really want
something yummy! I can make a bottle of it last at least a month to six
weeks by doing it that way. I use a half bottle at a time with a whole 10 z.
bag of strawberries frozen without sugar and it makes about six to eight
servings. If I can't get it all into my popsicle maker I freeze it in little
containers with lids. Sometimes I mix a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream
in it to make a creamy frozen treat.

Oops!
