You might miss Cavendish, so be alert. I am not sure if it is still open
but the Sue Ryder museum and cafe is worth a visit, but as i said it may
have gone. Other than that there isn't much to see or do in the village.
you could always go a few miles further on to Long Melford, lots of
antique shops, or come into my home town of Sudbury.

Depends what you are looking for. Brothels or pubs?

Do include Long Melford and Clare. If you have time follow the River Glem.

The [censored] at Brent Eleigh is not too far away (1hr/13 miles). No food,
but if you appreciate true pub atmosphere and are happy to mingle then
you'll enjoy it. (Tell them the man with the silly hat sent you.)

Sudbury is easy enough to get to - You can use the old railway line from
Long Melford (ish) which is a proper path not just a muddy trail. (What
you do in Sudbury these days I don't know.)

Watch out for the desert to the NW. Watch out for some get off and push
hills (not huge but outstanding for the area) to the NE. (eg Hartest.)

Lavenham is pretty.

The Bull in Cavendish is even less far away (just across the road from
the aforementioned Sue Ryder museum). I don't know what it's like these
days - I was last there a few years ago, but I remember the food being
OK, and - more importantly - the BEER being EXCELLENT. That was the pub
where I first sampled Adnams Fisherman, one cold winter evening.
Marvellous stuff.

Shirley Adnam's Old is what is required on such an evening (although
last time I had it it had a fisherman on the pump clip so may be the
same beast). I had an old GBG which under Southwold, in the "also try"
section simply said "any pub in Southwold"

If you do decide to ride the Glem valley stop at the Queen's Head, Hawkedon
or the Swan in Lavenham. Both are in the GBG.

I don't recall that they had the Old on at the time, but in any case
the Fisherman was new at the time so had to be tried. They are
definitely not the same beer. Fisherman is much more hoppy, and I think
is a bit stronger, too. But both are superb beers.
