  1. I tried today using my paypal account. after logging in
it said i needed to give it my credit card. i didn't.
there should have been enough money in the paypal
account to pay the 19.99 euros. Has anyone been
    successful signing up? Any suggestions?
    thanks...thehick

During the Giro I signed up and paid, after the first stage I saw that
I couldn't enter the site. I immediately called up American Express and
demanded my money back. The English web site company did not want to
deal with me or my problem. I eventually got all my money back and will
    never sign with them again..

  3. I've subscribed to their premium channel for quite some time. I'm becoming
pretty disenchanted with the fact that they keep demanding extra to see
things like the Giro and the Vuelta. But gee ... I got to see the Tour of
    eneco?

What?! Doesn't the "premium" channel imply, nay, demand, that nothing
    extra is required?

    No. Look up `premium'.

    Pre"mi*um (?), n.; pl. Premiums (#). [L. praemium,
    originally, what one has got before or better than others;
prae before + emere to take, buy. See Redeem.]

    ....

    4. A sum in advance of, or in addition to, the nominal or
par value of anything; as, gold was at a premium; he sold
    his stock at a premium.

    --
    Michael Press

  6. I subscribed to the "Premium" service and have watched it or rather
have endured it's stop/start inadequate feed format and been totally
frustrated by it and their palaver about checking the settings -- I
have high-speed cable consistently showing 800 and having to go as low
as 250 on their settings in order to get a really [censored]-poor feed
especially during the crucial parts of the races when more viewers are
    logging on.

They asked for extra money for the Vuelta and I agreed if only they
would provide an adequate feed to which they said simply that they were
    working on it.

Perhaps they are, but not well.

    _ Email them, [email hidden],
they are very quick in responding and generally

Not my experience. I tried emailing after Tour of Britain TV didn't
work. They ignore direct questions and it got as far as 'are you on a
Mac?' after three or four emails, before I dropped it to go to London
to watch the race and recorded the BBC coverage. I'm glad I have
satellite TV and don't have to rely on cycling.tv for coverage.

Their commentator at the Mall was pretty annoying too, but sounded
good next to the Eurosport one. And why did they only have one song?

I agree. I signed up for the premium service and expected that it covered
all of their key races...silly me. I paid extra for the Giro thinking it
was something to do with a licensing agreement with OLN but now realize that
the premium service is really the basic service and everything else is pay
    per view.

I am also frustrated with their customer service. At first they responded
to emails, now they seem to pick and choose which messages they will respond
to. They have problems with the quality of the signal and I get dropped a
lot. The quality is also so low that it is only watchable in a small
window. They also sent some promotion email that was not valid in the U.S.
which was pretty silly because it would have been easy to filter out sending
it to subscribers in specific countries. It seems like a startup that went
live well before they were ready. They have a lot of work to do before
their product will be at an acceptable level.

What a bunch of self-righteous crybabies. Of course thats just par for
RBR. But which of you has a better - even remotely better - option?
Its not that expensive, there is a fair amount of decent content for
the money. Someone has to get this going, and while its not perfect it
could be a heck of a lot worse.

Here's a great idea: get them to give it out so cheap they go out of
    business.

I don't have a problem paying a fair price for a product. My concern with
their pricing is that they lead me to believe that the premium option
included all of the events that I wanted to see. It is frustrating to get a
notice that they will be streaming a race but that I need to send more money
if I want to watch it. I am not the only person who feels that way.

My other big concern is that their technology and customer support are not
high enough quality to charge people money for. This past spring I was very
vocal with my cycling friends about joining cycling.tv but for the most part
they were extremely disappointed. Technical issues went unresolved and
their customer service had an annoying habit of just not responding to
email, many times in the middle of a thread. It was so bad that some of my
friends asked if I was an investor in the company.

I hope that they make it but they have a lot of issues to figure out pretty
    quickly.

I agree with just about all of the above -- classic mistake of rushing
a product/service out before it is ready. Much tougher to get customers
back after an initially poor experience. I would pay significantly more
for the service -- if only it would function at an acceptable level ...
too often just a series of still pictures, jerking from one image to
another. Their constant mantra of "check your settings" gets tiresome
and is simply deflection and denial of their own problems with an
    inadequate feed.

If you're known among your friends for being involved with bad
investments, could you send me a list of all companies you own stock in?

Funny. I have done a bunch of early investing in technology startups so
they assumed that I might have a interest in cycling.tv

Tonight I received a request to complete a quality survey for Cycling.TV. I
spent some time trying to outline the problems that I have with them and the
general theme was that their internal standards and attention to detail is
very low. I hit the send survey button when I was done. A few minutes
later I received a bounceback that the address at cycling.tv was invalid...

Watch the races on TV. Far better option. For example, this week,
both TVEI and Eurosport are showing Vuelta, while TVP Polonia is showing
    the Tour of Poland.

That leaves the races like Tour of Britain which only have highlights
and one stage on TV, which is still enough to irritate.

I don't think anyone's quibbling about the price level. There seem to
    be two types of complaint:
    1. cycling.tv's pricing is not clear - people think they have paid for
    the complete package, then get stung with extra per-race charges;
    2. cycling.tv uses flaky technology - it should give http and rtsp URLs
which will play in any media player.

Here's a great idea: clear pricing and standard technology.

    Hope that explains,
