Take it from someone who's lived in both places:

CO rain != German Rain

It's a dry rain there. Here, it just comes and goes. Today's been
rather nice though.

Once the heat delirium sets in and you start seeing rain where there is
none, that's dry rain.

Here when it rains you get wet. With humidity in the 80+ range, you
stay wet. If there's clouds in the sky and they're dropping water, your
going to get wet.

In Colorado, it can be raining and the rain will evaporate before it
hits the ground, as in dry rain. I've also been rained on in Colorado
and watched the water evaporate within seconds of it hitting me.

That's what it's supposed to be like, but that's not what it's been
like. My cat has soft fur for the first time since moving out here, and
my skin has gotten soft again. It's downright *humid* here! By desert
standards, anyway. Water, water, everywhere.

But it's not supposed to rain for the next week, I think. *big grin*
