Student poster confiscated

The same type of thing happened to clinton about 10 years ago. Being military, I was very anti-clinton, but felt that this kind of thing was out-of-line. The same applies here.

If the kid did nothing other than the poster (no threats, phone calls, etc.) who cares?

I can not believe that the Secret Service actually took action on that.
As for the Walmart folks, maybe they just got their Brown Shirts and they
wanted to impress the SS.

The thing that I worry more about is people becoming frightened to use
their right to free speech. There are a significant number of stories going
around of people being attacked, incarcerated and even convicted as a
result of exercising their right to protest. Not just the US, same thing is
happening here in the UK.

The vast majority of the folks picked up at the G8 conference had charges
dropped against them simply because there was no case to answer. In
essence they were incarcerated for taking part in a lawful protest.

if you "were military" you should then, have supported clinton, as he presided over the largest pentagon and military spending increases in history.

remember back to the failed candidacy of bush, when campaigning, he criticized clinton for overusing and underfunding the military. in some regards, clinton was the best republican pres ever!

I agree it does seem pretty extreme.

It's a good thing that we all aren't as silly as everyone involved in this story (except the teacher and the kid). It's ridiculous enough to make one wonder about the story's authenticity - but there are plenty of silly people out there with not enough to do I guess...

I'm guessing you never served, especially during the clinton years. Where did your 'increases' go? They were not spent on troops, or worthwhile equipment. I know he spent a lot dropping bombs on Bosnia to take everyone's minds off the Monica-gate hearings. Somalia? Haiti? Nope, no money spent there. In Haiti, the Pakistani and Indian troops each received a substantial stipend for their services, from the U.N. clinton refused the U.N. money for the U.S. soldiers. In fact, the U.S. paid the U.N. for operations in Haiti.
And I know we made a few bucks in Somalia. After the 'Blackhawk Down' incident, the white house order U.S. military pilots to fly Mohammad Aidid around the country. I hope we charged him for the gas.
Now Khobar Towers, now we all know the clinton did make some money from his Saudi friends. Where were the 9/11 terrorists from?

I cannot believe what is happening over there. Don't the cops or SS for that matter have anything else to do other than persecute high school kids?
America is fast becoming the biggest autocracy, not democracy. I wouldn't even be surprised if bush would stay as a president till the end of his days... americans probably wouldn't even lift a finger to get him out of the office...

ah, so the expenses garnered to the bush familiy and friends syndicate, these have provided our soldiers with a lack of body and vehicle armour...as they pass kids begging for water and dying from unsanitary conditions and lack of hospitals (bombed) and meds (not supplied for years) as this so-called humantarian mission continues on and on to further the interests of private corporations feeding off the us taxpayer fed military.

the trickle down theory in action? no doubt there is a trickle of one kind...

i never supported clinton's warmongering ways, remember he bombed the no fly zone everyday for eight years...

as for bosnia, the innocent kids, yes women and children were bombed due to clinton stating he and milosovich "did not see eye to eye", and i certainly never supported this, but there was approval by the un and member nations, something the us cannot even pretend to lay claim to today. i do not argue this makes a right, just that a percieved humanitarian struggle gets more support on the international stage than does outright proven deceptive invasions and occupations.

when you mention the suadis, you are getting somewhere, namely, recognizing the multinational business of the us is controlling any president regardless of which party affiliation or who elected said pres...if you think otherwise i suggest keep viewing the posts here, many are smarter than this.
