  1. Wow!

One year contract. Gives CSC a decent sprinter and classics rider. O'Grady will want to ride the Tour. Will there be a spot for him? Seems likely to me, especially with no TTT.

Glad Stuey got a ride with a Protour team. It would have been a shame for him to be effectively retired early from the Sony team debacle.

Esp. with no TTT, you'd think he'd be a good chance of a start in the Tour to try for another breakaway stage win.

I can see him doing a Jalabert and taking the KoM jersey...

  4. Stuey is a good rider and I would have thought that this was a very shrewd move by Riis.

O'Grady may not have the capacity for a Point Jersey anymore but he's certainly a guy who could win stages and pick up classement jerseys.

OK, we can all agree on this, O Grady signing with CSC is a cool move.
    Way to go Stuey.

I seriously doubt that. KoM's will not come from teams with a potential GC winner. All climbers on such teams will be restricted to using their efforts to help the top man. And the CSC team will not be wasting efforts in pulling in breakaways on flat stages either. So I think his role will be much more in the lines of what that Piil has had in the Tour. A free agent go on breaks.

It will be a problem for him though. Not many groups will be all that happy to have him along for the finish line.

I think Stuart O'Grady have capacity to win points Jersey yet in small UCI races!
