While not being the heaviest rider out there, or the most powerful, i'm considering some quality aero wheels.
I really like the look and design of the HED Jet 60 EX (EX is for extra spokes for more strength to support riders at 190 - 225lbs). While i'm ~175lbs i'd still prefer the 48 gram approx weight penalty for stronger (and hopefully stiffer) wheels. Cost is about AU$1550
Zipp 404's also come to mind, but at about AU$2500, I could get HED Jet 60's and a HED 3 front for the same price.
I remember that 'stiffness' review of high end wheels a while ago, and the Shimano 7801-Carbon50's came out very nicely, up for AU$2800.
Other thoughts? Looking for anything between 50mm and 60mm that are stiff, price is of course an object, but not a huge one. I'm kind of over Mavic as a wheel brand hence why I haven't listed the Cosmic Carbone Pro or whatever it is, but if people think it is good i'll consider it.
Tubular/Clincher, not really fussed as these will be race only wheels. I've got two other sets for non-competitive events being American Classic 420's and training of Mavic Elite.
Looking at road racing, TT and criteriums.
