Argentina, I think, somewhere in the south. So you can imagine that
they ship them in a cargo hold filled with some inert gas, I suppose.
You could argue that means they aren't fresh, but they taste fresh.
I like the fresh taste better. I am not going to argue anything about that. I
just don't like them frozen, mushy. The ones in frozen bags at the supermarket.
Fresh ones I think, they are sold in the market in the cooler months.. Which is
off season here. They are sour tasting. Adding splenda to them, don't matter
really. Still sour and bitter. Don't even taste like a strawberry. They are
pricier in the cooler months too. Why waste the money?
I don't eat a lot, a lot, of strawberries really. We go through a quart of them
every week though. With myself, and three teenage sons.
Change of the season is coming up. We got a three day weekend, Labor Day
weekend here. It sorta brings in the fall season. Which I love. Its cooler
weather, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. 🙂
Ya would think with a name like Sunshyne, I would love hot weather. I don't.
Autumn is my favorite season. Fresh air, the wind. Windchimes chiming. Windows
open. Great smells coming from the kitchen. Blowing leaves. Its beautiful.
OK, gotta get to studying. Two tests tomorrow. Thats why I am up in the middle
of the night. Its quiet. 🙂
