oh, man, that's going way back.

I sure did have one. Sort of a lime green, as I recall. Used to dream of an Apple Krate, but my parents never would spend that much.

I still remember a crash where I met up with the top tube 5 speed shifter in dramatic fashion, and the one where I got sideways jumping off a ramp over some large gravel and couldn't get it rubber side down before the landing, and riding it off the roof to test the cranks (they failed), and ...

I miss having young rubber bones.

We used to ride 'em all of the time. Then somebody got the idea to cut another pair of forks off of a different bike and just pound them onto our stingrays...BAM...Easy Rider choppers!!! They worked great but i remember jumping one time and the extra forks along with the wheel flew off as I stabbed the regular forks into the ground and endoed into the mud. Ahhhhh! What fun! Stoopid...oblivious...and no one got hurt!

Mine was lime green metallic with a banana seat. Gave it up easily though for a Scwhinn Continental when I was 14. Pretended I was that guy from "Breaking Away."

my own had the banana seat and what were those handle bars called? monkey bars? those things were built to abuse. we lived at the top of a hill, so ramps were big. of course, half the time the ramps collapsed. we also set up obstacle courses and pulled each other around by tieing a rope to something like a skate board made by pounding flat a metal skate and nailing it to a piece of plywood with about a bazillion 8penny nails.

i guess my dad didn't own a hacksaw, because i remember about the easy rider conversion too, and we weren't the kind of kids who wouldn't have tried if it were possible.

off topic, but i once jumped off our roof during a huricane with a sheet tied to my ankles and wrists. riding your bike off the roof is just wild. consider yourself invited over anytime.

I can't remember owning one, although I'm sure I did at some point in time... I do remember a lime green bike, as like the others with the green sting rays. It might of been one.
