When do you go to bed? What is your nightly routine? I stay up and read
before I go to sleep, and that's when I used to snack. Now I sip a glass
of water and chew a piece of sugarless gum while I read. If you try this,
just make sure you spit the gum out before you actually fall asleep.

Evenings were my worst time for snacking. When I weighed over 300
pounds I would eat more after dinner than most people eat in two full
days. It has taken a long time to beat that habit. Many nights I just
made myself go to bed - whether I was tired or not. Sometimes a walk
after dinner helped, but what it boiled down to was just making up my
mind that I wasn't going to do it any more. I picked an hour after
which there would be no eating. After a while I noticed that I wasn't
    feeling 'munchy' any more.

Nobody said it was going to be easy...

  13. After dinner, I brush my teeth, floss and then that its for the rest of the
evening. It is too much trouble to brush 3 minutes again and then floss
again, lol. It works for me.

If you're on Atkins, have you ever done a complete Induction
following the actual rules as they really appear in the book?
The cravings go away *completely* by the end of Induction for
    most people.

Given that you posted about a week ago about eating 10 grams
per day it doesn't look you know what the actual rules for
Induction are. Doctor Atkins New Diet Revolution is the book
    that describes his plan.

Unless you go really low, it might rebound and make you feel worse. Do you
test, so you can see what your numbers are when you get a craving? If not,
maybe trying a protein hit would get rid of the feelings without messing up
    your blood glucose any more?

*Liking* is NOT the same as *craving*.

A craving is a physical urge from your body. If you try to
distract yourself from it the effort does not help.

A desire is a mental urge from your old habits. If you try
to distract yourself from it the effort does help. If you
keep distracting yourself from it eventually the old habit
    dies.

It's hard for some to learn the difference between the two.

Try some really spicy pork rinds. No carbs, and anyway you wont be
able to eat too many because they are so hot.

  18. Roger, have you tried them...?

I'm trying atkins, get it all day for 1 maybe two days. then By day 3 my
sugar drops at midnight and I go and eat carbs... I lost 25 pounds on
Atkins about 6 years ago and have kept it off. I have had a few deaths
in my family over the summer and I have put on 7 pounds.
So I keep trying to restart the induction and cant get past a few days.....

PS, the post I made about 1500 calories and 10 grams was what I can do
for 2 days. I think that that is too low and it is affecting my BS.

    Any suggestions
    Warren
