    STICK IT TO THEM DAY SEPT 10TH

    IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

    AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

    THEREFORE Sept 10TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM DAY" AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.

    THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE A S YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

    WAITING ON THIS ADMINISTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

    REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

    WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN! .

    SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD **

    strange thing to say from a user that names himself after a car and has a cars badge as his avatar...😄

    nice idea in thoery but it wouldnt solve anything...try researching alternative fuels or at least buy a hybrid...

    i always use alternative power. my bike & i'm the engine. i don't use any gas, just food!

    They are actually alright cars. Mine has been reliable. But a chick magnet they are not.

    If this were to work, I imagine their (big oil's) answer would be, "we'll see you at the pumps on September 11, sheeple, when the price will be 20% higher."

    ya that's what i say, but i was just passing that message around like i was asked too. i don't see how that would make any difference, but on the slim chance it does, the more power to us all. this has been tried since the 70's & i don't know how effective it ever was if any...

    If everybody stops buying petrol (gas) for one day, they will still need to fill up their cars the next day. The only way for the theory to work is if people actually DON'T USE petrol for a day. Problem is that car drivers won't stop using their cars.

    There was a call for consumers to boycott a particular chain of garage for a week (eg "Shell" or "Esso"😉 meaning that the particular chain would have to cut their prices to attract custom, forcing competitors to follow suit so as not to be undercut.

    If you think that US gas prices are high, try the UK. Petrol costs 91.9 pence/litre.
    Not sure of the conversion rate but I think that works out at $1.67 a litre ($7.58 gallon)

    your right batesy, petrol (or gas as those crazy folks call it ) is cheap cheap cheap in america...

    if you were to ban it for a day, people would fill up double the day before because they have to get to work when the ban is on and then fill up the day after...

    the oil companies will be rubbing thier hands.

    lets face it most people cant live without a car and therefore cant live without petrol...it just inconviences the car users.

    It's a noble idea : but oil is not merely petrol (or gasolene as it's called over there).

    The USA and Europe and Oz needs energy : energy is the issue.
    Energy in the form of fuel for our car engines, energy in the form of fuel to generate electricity, energy in the form of fuel to power practically every mechanical and electrical instrument in our everyday life.
    The world decided that the most efficent fossil fuel from which to derive energy is oil.

    Before oil, coal was the preferred energy source and before coal, it was wood.

    So Pro is right - we need to look at our energy requirements and then decide can we generate energy from another source.
    I reckon Hydrogen might just be a runner.

    Oil demand is due to equal oil supply in 2010.
    After that, who know's.
