STI shifters freezing

check the cable runs and clean them. ingressed water freezes and locks
them most effectively. use ferrules with seals in the future.

Ride your fixed gear at temps below 32 degree F??

Flush and relube the cables/housings, or replace them. Use oil to relube
them instead of grease.

The RSX shifters on my touring bike do the same thing when it gets
cold. I solve the problem by holding the big lever to the right (on
the right-hand shifter) with my index finger while shifting with my
middle finger. Sometime just pulling the big lever to the right and
letting go allows the small lever to function.
