  1. Well after a total loss of 32 pounds and stopping eight
pounds short of my goal weight back in the fall, I went back
to WW yesterday and found out that I gained back 18 pounds,
more than half of my total loss!! I am extremely upset, but
realize that WW is something I will have to do for the rest
of my life. Thinking I could get the last 8 off without the
support of the meetings and staying OP without weighing in
each week did not work for me.

I guess the good news is that I am still 14 pounds better
off than when I started two years ago, and now only have 26
pounds to lose instead of 40. Plus my exercise habits are
sooo much better, so I do think that I must have added some
muscle tone in the last two years.

So now I am starting over with the Flex point system. My
question to those of you who have trouble eating all your
points....What do you eat? My target is 22 and I had a very
hard time sticking to it yesterday, I was starving when I
went to bed! I wanted to save flex points until I got back
into the routine a little bit...

    Thanks,

    Meg

  2. Glad to see you going to the meetings again. For me it has
made a big difference. I tried to lose without going to the
meetings and found that my weekly losses dropped below a
pound a week. Now I am back to going to the meetings and I
am losing again. I guess I need the extra support and
motivation that our meetings (a bit rowdy) gives me.

  3. It sounds cliche, but I do go for leafy green filler
(lettuce) when I'm hungry near bedtime. I dip into the flex
points for salad dressing if I am close to the point limit
for the day, but I madk a deal with myself that I can eat
the whole bag if I wanted to as long as I count the
    dressing points.

I also go for a bag of salad to kill of "need to munch"
cravings. I like romainne lettuce best for that. I actually
like lettuce which helps a lot for this task. I also love
celery so that helps with munchies. Cucumber slices are
great munchie food for me too and if I eat those I go with a
dip I've made with fat free sour cream and/or mayo and count
    the points from the
    dip.

I think it's hardest the first week or a week you're
starting over with because your tummy is used to getting
more bulk. If you give the bulk back to it in low point
doses, I don't think it knows the difference.

    my two cents Julie

  4. Hi Meg. Welcome to the group, you've picked a great place
for support. Along with the meetings this group will just
    round out your plan nicely.

I began WW February 8, 2003, by late June I had lost 35 lbs.
I maintained from June right through to Christmas, then
after Christmas managed to pack 10 lbs back on. When I first
joined I found myself eating more fruits and vegetables.
Typically in a day I'd eat oatmeal with milk or egg white on
whole wheat toast w/1/2 oz cheese for breakfast, soup or
sandwich for lunch (lowfat and lots of veggies), dinners
mostly consisted of lean pork loin chops, chicken breast,
lean beef, baked potato, rice, veggies. I always tried to
have salad greens, perhaps with a little feta and balsamic
vinegar for dressing. These are just an example of some of
the things I ate, it's not what I ate every day, make some
changes to your diet day to day so you don't get bored with
what you're eating. I tried to keep as much of it low in fat
as possible. One more tip, always drink your water and
    ensure you journal!!

I find that I'm hungry in the evenings as well, so what I
usually try to do is keep 4-5 points just for snacks after
dinner. Some of the things I'll have as snacks are, lowfat
popcorn, fruit, carrot sticks, a few crackers with peanut
butter, lowfat muffins, a plain whole wheat bun, maybe with
1 tbsp. jam, salad, homemade tomato salsa (thanks Fred!).
There are many things you can eat in the evenings, just
ensure that you save enough points for them. I'm not much of
a breakfast person, so I tend to stick to 3 - 4 points for
breakfast, 4-6 for lunch, then dinner normally consists of
around 8-10, leaving points for snacks during the day or in
    the evening.

Hope this helps. Good luck Meg.

  5. Hi, Meg, Many people, including myself, have found that the
meetings are the best way to help keep the weight off. You
have a chance to start over.

  7. Meg:

Congrats on coming back before you gained it all back!! You
are a better woman than I!! :-) I find that eating 22 points
a day is okay if I follow the fast track style of eating.

  8. Welcome back, Meg. I find that if I'm not eating carbs I'm not as hungry...
try that for awhile... more protein... see if that helps you? Good luck on
    those last 26 pounds! 🙂
