The geometry is more for jumping than xc style riding, but if that's what you like it might be good. I also wouldn't buy a new SS with a tensioner, it just seems like you shouldn't have to with a new bike. Those are more for retrofitting IMO.
I got a better bike for similar money going for a used Surly. Love it.
My LBS has those. I started eyeing one with lust until I picked it up. Expecting to find this nice, light bike, I realized it was heavier than my reared FS bike. :-( Seems to me to defeat a lot of the purpose for going SS.

That bike is just a run of the mill Hardrock frame, they removed the derailluers and put a conversion kit on it. If you want to run a conversion kit on a bike, might as well buy the frame that you really desire and convert/build it up yourself. Its cheaper that way.
