Well, I hadn't really thought about it in my original post. My bike
that has more wheel slippage has smaller cogs front and rear.

Are you sure? I think that came up recently, too... I thought cog size
only effects how much torque is transmitted to the hub. Can that cause
the wheel to slip forward? I don't understand the mathemaphysics of
any of this.
