  1. Hi,

I need to pick up a chain tensioner for the ss i'm building up. I want a
Singulator style device, are there any other options other than the Surly or
the DMT Tension Seeker? There must be a cheaper option for such a simple
thing... Any idea where I can get one in the UK? Not many seem to appear on
eBay. Hoping to find a good deal before I try mutilating an old mech, and
none of my usual sites or bike shops stock them. None of you UK lot are
    selling one are you...?

    Cheers

Wiggle.co.uk have a few things along those lines under "Chain Devices". I
know bugger all about singlespeeds though, so they might not be what you're
    after.

    But £32! Holy [censored]!

I have an old (ish) (few months old) that I could sell you. Just gone back
to gears after fitting my MRP, which means I could bundle a nice 24/7
single-speed kit (16t sprocket and cassette spacers) with it.

    As it was when fitted.

Rohloff makes one, but I'd guess it's more expensive rather than cheaper...

yeah i looked at that one, but it seems to put a bit of extra messing back
into the chain route. I like the single idler design of the others better
and went for the dmr from Matt.

    cheers

Judging from some other posts, if that's a Surly I'd carry a spare.

I'm thinking of it even with the Rohloff that I have because a previous one
broke already...although they seem to have redesigned the previous one's point
    of failure.
