SRM V: Smoothing Feature?

Based on your other question, I gather the issue you're really grappling with is the "jumpiness" of the displayed power. If so, you might experiment with changing the smoothing used when updating the display - hook your PC V up to your computer, launch the SRM software, and go to PowerControl, Setup, Special, etc. (I'd walk you all the way through it, but I don't have my download cable with me.)

Thanks a lot-this is very helpful to me! What number should I plug in to achieve the desired effect? I think the default is 3 seconds.

Sadly, depite allegations to the contrary, discussions with SRM, USA, indicate that there is no way to "smooth" the display on SRM's.
Riders should be aware that it's very difficult, practically impossible in fact, to use the Wattage output readings, especially on their "Amateur" version. They're just too jumpy to stay in zone.
Perhaps another power meter would be a better choice given the major investment needed.

That's odd, since I can change it on my PC IV* - perhaps the PC V is different?

*Since I happen to have mine with me today: go to Powercontrol, Setup, Special, and change the Smooth over for POW to something longer than the default value of 3 s.

Thanks yet again-I don't know who to believe, but I'm going to take your advice-I'll post the results later.
