Squeak on my bike

The dreaded squeak! Could be anything. If it's got a thread, grease it!

dont have LOOK pedals do you by any chance 😉

if only a few months old you should be up for a free service. describe the offending sound to your place of purchase and make sure they actually take it out and ride it to identify the culprit

If you have got one of those adjustable angle head stems they can do
that and can be a devil to stop

My MTB squeeks heaps nowadays, mostly due to the fact that as a daily commute anything (everything) I’ve done to overcome a squeek or creak has come back after a few rides (especially with the rain we’ve had recently here in Melb).
I just accept it now & find that I don’t need to warn other bike path users of my appraoch.

A few places to check for the source of these noises:

* Your pedals - getting out of the seat and pushing harder may make the
noise more obvious. this is a well known 'issue' particularly with some
combinations of Look pedals and cleats.

* The bottom bracket - I had the same problem as you recently and found that
once the bottom bracket had been pulled apart and the threads regreased and
replaced the noise had gone completely. The bottom bracket area of the frame
is also the place where water can accumulate inside the frame.

* The cranks themselves can squeak in the area where they attach to the
axle. There's debate as to whether this area should be assembled dry or
whether this joint should be greased.

There are plenty of places on a bike where squeaks can arise - the seatpost
or saddle is often mentioned too but in your case since the noise is when
you're out of the saddle it seems pretty unlikely.

Im of the thinking "it will eventually go away", but if you cant stand it pull out your grease and lube and get to work.

I find after winter or a good rain event my bike will squeak for a while and then it will gradually disappear.
