It was snowing heavily when we reached the summit of Mt Donna Buang today! So the second planned ascent was put on hold and we did loops of a few other climbs at a lower altitude.

Far out man! What possesses you to go out riding on days like yesterday? I didn't want to do the BR ride this morning 'cause it was going to be 5 degrees - I've had enough of this winter riding [censored] - bring on summer (not too hot please).

All concerns turned out to be unnecessary.
It rained a little at North Sydney around 7am, so the roads were slick
when we started, but after that it got better and better.

All in all almost perfect cycling weather and a good day was had by most.

As everyone else has kinda strayed off-topic, but stayed with the weather, is there anyone here from Maroochydore?

That BoM radar sure looked impressive on Saturday arvo, any chance of some of that being sent down to Melboring?😉

Saturday's weather wasn't so good early, but Sunday was magic. I wanted some time alone, so I left the house at 0530h and went to Whittlesea, Humevale (had a look at the TT course - not steep, just lots of corners and a little bumpy single lane road), Kinglake then down through St Andrews back home. Beautiful countryside and weather to match. Very quiet roads early, though I saw a runner on Humevale Road(!).

I only had to deal with one bogan, and that was when I was nearly home. He beeped his horn 'cos I took the lane heading into a big roundabout... "you're welcome!", I replied...

Nice, nice ride indeed.

Don't know what you mean ... that's on the 'Sunshine Coast'! (I lived
there from 1992-96. In my first month we got over 8 inches of rain in
24 hours, twice!)

Two weeks of 35, a few days of reasonable weather, and now upcoming
another week of 35.

At least the mountain is 10 degrees cooler. It was a positively
chilly wind today.

Cyclone.... um.... Joy?

I saw my first glimpse of Coonabarabran when we were travelling north,
in the tail end of that. Walking below the dome of my future
workplace, and you couldn't see the top of it.

Still, in those 3 years I lived on the sunny coast, we did not
encounter any cyclones. I felt jipped.
