I am using Damon Rinard's excellent spocalc
(http://damonrinard.com/spocalc.htm) spreadsheet to calc the spokes for
my first wheelbuild. Since the Deore XT hubs I am going to buy:
http://www.roseversand.de/output/controller.aspx?cid=156&detail=10&detail2=3145
and
http://www.roseversand.de/output/controller.aspx?cid=156&detail=10&detail2=3144
are not listed in the spreadsheet, could anyone confirm the following
data is correct? Rims are Mavic Open Pro 700c, and I have got the hub
dims from the Shimano website, but I would like an independent check
before I spend lots of mail order cash.
Front Wheel
N, total number of spokes 36
ERD, effective rim diameter 605.0
OSB, offset spoke bed 0.0
WL, width from center to left flange 35.8
WR, width from center to right flange 35.8
dL, left flange diameter 38.0
dR, right flange diameter 38.0
S, spoke hole diameter 2.6
X, cross number (decimal allowed)(optional) 3.00
Spoke length 294.3
Rear Wheel Input Data
N, total number of spokes 36
ERD, effective rim diameter 605.0
OSB, offset spoke bed 0.0
WL, width from center to left flange 37.6
WR, width from center to right flange 21.8
dL, left flange diameter 45.0
dR, right flange diameter 45.0
S, spoke hole diameter 2.6
X, cross number (decimal allowed)(optional) 3.00
Spoke length left 293.0
Spoke length right 291.4
Also, the spokes come in increments of 2mm. Should I round up, or round
nearest? And what size nipples do I need? (no jokes please)
TIA
