Well he was headbutting *a lot* and he was blocking... if he was not doing
something wrong, he wouldn't have been disqualified.

Still, he's young and hopefully it's a salutory lesson for him.

disqualified from one of the heats for headbutting an opponent. The
race was stopped and restarted without him.

Also the Australian Ben Kersten finished second in the final but got
disqualified for crossing another rider's line (eh?), so Ross Edgar was
promoted from fourth to third to get his bronze.

And England got gold and silver in the individual 4k pursuit. Hurrah!

Sorry to sound ignorant, but I guess this is some some sort of technical
term for a milder form of cheating, not that he actually got *off* his bike
and nutted an opponent (which presumably gets someone *arrested* as well as
disqualified these days?) I'm not a racer type so don't know the lingo that
well....

No, he didn't get off his bike, but he did lean his head over to litereally
headbutt the side of the rider nest to him... repeatedly and very visibly!

No, not Jamie Staff. He came fourth in a heat so didn't make it through to
final. It was a young rider called... (checks cyclingnews.com) Matthew
Crampton I think.

Just watched the women's tri. Julie Dibden of England looked great on the
bike. Maybe if it hadn't been such a diabollickly (sp??!) boring flat course
she could have got away. Or maybe she was just working for Liz Blatchford.
