Quoted message said:I lost about 70 lbs by cutting out starches for lunch and at dinner and
replacing my morning corn flakes and nightly ice create with carb
smart(with splenda) products.
Around 3 months ago while into heavy splenda use, I started developing
severe iching all over my body - mostly on my back and chest. Around
the same time I had also gained about 10 lbs as I started to relax the
diet a bit.
I found I had to stop using Splenda as well.
I had started with occasional use, and then having gotten some of the
Davinci syrups to flavor my coffee and tea, the usage increased.
I started having very painful skin rashes. As my usage of Splenda had
increased gradually, it took me some time to figure out the cause. I went on
a "no plastic food" week and the rashes started to heal. So I thought about
what had changed in the past few months and realized Splenda had gone from
occasional to daily use. I tested Splenda specifically using it 2-3 days in
a row, the rash came back.
So, off the Splenda and now hoping that most soft drink manufacturers don't
switch... although DH and I have done a major switch to water since the end
of December. It's working out much better for both of us.
Pulled my stats from the sig line - didn't want Robo Challenge to pick up on
the weight gain. I've been sick, flu turned into pneumonia. My DH lost
weight, I haven't exercised for almost 2 weeks and my weight is up. But,
I've got to be able to breathe without wheezing and coughing jags before I
can start exercising again. This is what can cause me to give up the weight
loss effort. Any deviation from 4-6 days of exercise per week and the weight
just piles back on. It gets so frustrating!!
