  1. Hi y'all, A little background: I started WW'ers in July 2001 weighing in at 212.2 lbs. By
Christmas 2001 I was 184 lbs., and very happy with my progress. I bottomed out at 179.4 lbs. I
then spent about the next 14-16 months in the mid-180's, wanting to be a little lighter, but still
quite happy with the near 30 lb reduction from my starting weight. Sadly from about Oct '03 I have
subconsciously started to regard WW'ers as any other "diet." I have become VERY unhappy with
myself & lack of progress, and I am sad to report that I weighed in last Wed., Dec 17th at 197
lbs!! 🙁 I have had trouble with the Flexpoints modification to the program, and I also have
always felt a little weird being a guy on WW'ers. I seem to be one of the only guys at our
meetings. I need to turn (or REturn) to this NG as a major source of encouragement. How do I get
    back on track? HELP! -chris

  2. you get back on track just like you started, respect yourself enough to do
what is best for you, disregard anything else, you are obviously one of the
few men in your area that found a way to eat that is good for your goals.
Just keep trying, you are never a failure as long as you keep trying, good
    luck, Lee

You have to decide if you are serious. Do you want to lose that weight? Do you REALLY want to lose
    that weight?

If you decide that staying where you are or gaining is not an option then you know how to lose
weight. You have done it before, and you can do it again.

Gender issues are strange aren't they. You go along to a meeting and there are no other men! Men
should love being the only guy in a group of 30 women. The centre of attention. But somehow WW isn't
    like that.

Look at it this way. You're a guy with all the WW advantages of metabolism and size. You can lose
weight quicker than all the women there, and make them really jealous.

Or if this really is an issue, then do WW online, and use this group as your support group.

To get rid of those extra few pounds start doing some exercise, and maybe lift some weights. You'll
    get a lot fitter too.

    good luck

  4. It;s not easy getting back on track. but posting to this news group and asking for help is a start.
I reached my goal weight Spet 11 and due to stress and other personal problems went off of the
program. I got comfortable with the new me and went back to my old eating habits. By about the end
of sept i gained 5lbs back and sat 130lbs. I sat there up until recently, I decided that I wasn't
happy with how I lookedd even thought that 130lbs for my height (5'4inches) is considered healthy.
I didn't feel healthy because of the way I ate. So judt got back on track, started eating better
cutting things out of my diet that shouldn't have been there. Eating more of the things that
should. I fall off time to time. But I read posts on here and other news groups that i belong to
and I get back on. my goal is to lose the 5lbs that I gaine and then try and lose another 10lbs.
Take it one step at a time and one day at a time. if you fall off get back on don't give up. Do
    this for your self

count, but that didn't keep me from getting to goal THIS time. Just don't quit and you will too.

  6. I use WW Online to track my weight and journal my food. I use this NG as support and the NG's
challenges for accountability. For me, these are more than excellent substitutes for WW meetings. If
I had to rely on meetings to do this, I wouldn't come as far as I have. In my case, gender has
nothing to do with my incompatibility with meetings. I just don't like them!

You've already helped yourself and taken the first steps to being back on track. You weighed
yourself, you recognized the problem and the need to do something, you came here and asked for help.
You're already on your way. Keep coming back.

Go back to what you were doing when you last lost weight. Take a look at your diaries (if you kept
them) and see what you were eating and doing when you were losing nicely, and do that. You don't
HAVE to use the felxpoints system to lose: we don't here in the UK.

TRACK EVERY BITE! And remember, the only person who says what goes in your mouth is you!

  10. Thank you ALL! Wow, what good words of WW'er wisdom you've spoken into my
    life.
Yes Kate, I have kept all my journals. As soon as I'm finished typing this,
I shall go dig 'em out of my drawer, dust then off, & review them!
It's always felt weird using a NG as support, but I can tell from some of
the respondents to my original post that it clearly helps.
I shall make this a part of my on-line time.
Thanks to all, and let's have a Merry WW'er Christmas!

Go back to what you were doing when you last lost weight. Take a look at your diaries (if you
kept them) and see what you were eating and doing when you were losing nicely, and do that.
You don't HAVE to use the felxpoints system to lose: we don't here in the UK.

TRACK EVERY BITE! And remember, the only person who says what goes in your mouth is you!

Welcome back! You'll soon be back in the swing of it.

  13. there is alt.support.diet
and alt.support.diet.low-carb. they have some good information in them to.
the low carb one is good for people who want to try it and need info on
where to start exspecially if they want to try atkins. cause half the people
are on it and they know what they r talking about. the diet support one is
good to they have good info in general.
    have a good holidays everyone
