There should be zero quality concerns. First and foremost products made in China can be every bit as good as products made elsewhere. A lot of [censored], poorly built stuff is made in the US, just as there is quality stuff made. Second, both Shimano and Specialized have quality product lines.

I've had a pair of Specialized shoes for a couple of years. They've been great and are still as good as the day I got them. I'd buy another pair, if I needed too...

I'd say there's mostly crappy and poorly built stuff made in the US, unless the guys from Japan or Germany explain to those idiots here, slowly and carefully, how to properly build their Hondas, Toyotas, BMWs, etc... There are some exceptions, yes, but they are few and far between. And, yes, there's been a strong drive in China to move to high-quality products as well. Practically all high-tech footwear comes from China these days, and there's no reason for concern at all; at least not as far as the quality of the products is concerned...

P.S.: Having said that, I still prefer my Sidis, made in Italy 😄, I think 😕

I've bought a pair of Shimano R107 shoes about 4 years ago and I love them. They're very comfortable and still look really cool to me. 😎

My feet landed in a pair of Shimano SH-R215's. Very nice.

The best shoe is the one that fits, regardless of where it's made. Good design and monitoring of production means good product quality. Most all cycling shoe makers design well and maintain good quality control. The only poorly made shoes I've seen are some customs from the US or UK or poorly designed shoes, like Bontrager.
