i have bought some new shimano SPD-Ls and i dont know if they were the best choice any thoughts?

If you mean SPD-SL, you've made a wise choice. 🙂

ive had them for 6 months and have nothing but praise for them. shimano have employed the KISS design which works great. I find that the cleats last around 10,000kms.

I got about 8,000km on my last set before they felt a little too loose when clipped in.
Do you rotate yours at all? I always clip the left foot out at a stop (i.e. traffic light etc.) that one always wears a lot faster than the other side.

yeh i meant SPD-SLs sorry but i didnt know if i should of
spent more for a pair of LOOK or CAMPAGNOLO? but i supose with
the amount i ride its a bit over the top
and no i dont rotate its always the left foot i unclip at lights and in traffic -
Are the SPD-SLs better than the SPD-Rs?

The platform is larger and seems to be much easier to clip-in to from a start from what I have seen. I believe that the SL cleats use the standard Look mounting bolt pattern.
