Space Grips & Lumicycles

While I'm on the subject, does anyone here have any experience of the q/r
cam lock brackets that Lumicycle now sell? If I decide to make this
permanent then I'd like something a bit less fiddly than the standard zip
ties. What's the cam lock bracket like? Will it fit securely to a Space
Grip (22mm diameter)?

I use the cam lock brackets. Adjustable diameter and very secure.

the Space-Grips! ;-)

I tried recently-bought Lumicycle q/r cam lock brackets on a Space Grip.
They do grip securely (little more grippy & secure than zip tie) even on a
naked Grip. Quite quick but barely more pleasant to use than the zip ties
overall as more space is required and the lamps can be dropped
accidentally as the q/r brackets can fall open when refitting, and
vertical adjustment (or lateral in your case) is still needed every time
as the bracket stays with the lamp. Not extremely neat-looking or
lightweight either.

Zip tie grip is improved with self-amalgamating rubber tape.

You [censored]! I'm going to keep looking at it and trying to work out how
best to achieve that now!

Far simpler and more practical to just run the cables neatly along the
edge of the Space Grips, secured by zip ties.

Glad to see you're still here. Thanks for the input, and to everyone
else who replied. Space isn't really an issue for me.

The requirement for lateral adjustment is less frustrating than a
requirement for vertical adjustment (one benefit of having the Space
Grip mounted vertically).

I've actually had no problems with grip. I get enough from the rubber
shims that came with the lights, fitted between the zip tie and the bar.
But so far I've only used the lights mounted at the front of the bike
on 4 occasions.

I'm still not sure whether I prefer helmet mounting or bike mounting. I
think probably bike mounting, just because I then don't need to wear a
helmet.

True. The shims aren't actually loose, though. They fit through the
same slot attached to the light as the zip ties.
